Semsar Block — Terms of Use

1. What the service does

Semsar Block gives your phone a list of phone numbers and asks your phone's operating system to

reject calls from them. Blocking happens on your device. We are not a telecom operator, we do not

carry your calls, and we cannot see who calls you.

There is no sign-up. Your device gets a random token on install. Uninstalling the app ends your use

of the service.

When you report a number you are saying one thing: you do not want calls from it. You are not

accusing anyone of anything, and the app never publishes a name or a label for a number.

You agree not to report numbers in bad faith — to silence a person you are in a dispute with, to

harm a competitor, or by automating reports. We limit how many reports a device can send per day,

we weight reports by how well a device has agreed with the community in the past, and we may ignore

or remove reports from a device that abuses the service.

The service is provided as it is. We try to keep the list accurate, but:

A blocked number can be wrong. A number may be reported by mistake, or reassigned by the

carrier to a new person.

A wanted call can be blocked. Check the app's list of blocked numbers if you are expecting a

call from an unknown number, and keep numbers that matter to you in your contacts — Android never

sends calls from your contacts to the app.

Blocking can fail. The operating system, your carrier, or a device manufacturer's own settings

can all change how calls arrive.

To the extent Egyptian law allows, we are not liable for a call you did not receive, or for one you

did.

Write to haithamabdallah@gmail.com with the number. We will look at how it came to be blocked, remove

it if it should not be there, and can pin it so votes cannot block it again. We aim to answer within 48 hours.

If you make promotional calls, note that Egypt's NTRA requires you to register them with your

operator. Semsar Block is not affiliated with NTRA and does not act on its behalf.

Do not attempt to download the blocklist in bulk, resell it, reverse-engineer the service to obtain

it, or use the service to build a caller-identification product. The list exists to protect the

people who built it.

The app is free. If we introduce paid features, blocking will stay free — the community builds the

list, so we will not charge for the thing the community made.

We may change these terms; the new version appears here with a new date. You can stop using the

service at any time by uninstalling the app. We may suspend a device token that abuses the service.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt.
